Very unusual cased Map Measure by Elliott Bros of London. Nicely fitted mahogany case with swing catch to the front. The instrument is white metal (possibly German silver) and signed; Elliott Bros London No36. As the instrument is wheeled along the scale to be measured the bar moves outwards and the small steel pointer advances along the two twin scales on the side. The top scales are marked 10 and 30, and the bottom scales 16 and 24. A fascinating instrument. c.1900. Box size;16cm x 3.5cm x 3cm. £SOLD

Another unusual piece! C.A. Smith's Patent Paper Cutter! This piece looks to date to c.1930 and is designed to cut circles in paper without damage. The original paper instructions are still in the lid. The instrument dismantles for transit and the original glass circle is still present. Box size; 19cm x 6.5cm x 4cm. £165 ($330)

Ashworth, London, large German silver proportional dividers in fitted case c.1910. The case is a red Moroccan leather covered one with plush blue and purple velvet and satin interior. One of the front catches is absent.

J.Halden & Co., London & Manchester Planimeter (area calculator) 1870-1890. Black Moroccan leather covered box with fitted purple velvet interior. Near mint condition lacquered brass instrument with ivorine vernier scale and with matching serial numbers. Super set!  Box size: 22cm x 3.5cm x 4.5cm. £195 ($390)

Mahogany cased set of Scale rules and offsets. Solid mahogany box with swing catches and blue satin lining to the lid embossed in gold 'Stanley, Great Turnstile, Holborne, London'. The box contains 6x boxwood scale rules and 5x boxwood offsets. 5 of the rules are marked for Stanley and one is marked for J.Halden. All 5 offsets are signed for Stanley. Two of the internal box dividers are damaged and a couple of the rules have some light edge nibbles, but overall a very tidy and workable set. The box measures approx. 34cm x 4.5cm x 5.5cm.  £95 ($190)

Monster 20-piece cased set of Stanley Scale rules and offsets! Solid mahogany box with swing catches and blue satin lining to the lid embossed in gold 'Stanley, Trade Mark, London, England'. The box contains 10x boxwood scale rules and 10x boxwood offsets. All the rules look to be original and all are signed for Stanley. What a set!! The box measures approx. 41cm x 9.5cm x 6cm.  £235 ($470)
