Cased 7-piece set of Dental scaling instruments by S.Maw, Son & Thompson c.1870. A very tidy little set indeed! Black Moroccan leather cover case lined with vibrant pink silk and velvet embossed in gold with the logo of Soloman Maw, Son & Thompson. Ivory universal handle with 5 tools and a sharpening stone. Box size approx. 7cm x 7.5cm x 2cm. £SOLD
Edwardian silver toothbrush. The bristles are mounted in a small wooden block held inside the silver mount. Beautifully engraved handle with a floral theme. Full hallmarks for Birmingham 1903. 7.5cm long. £SOLD
Tortoishell mounted double ended instrument by Weiss of London housing a gum lancet and tenaculum. This style of instrument became popular around 1850 as by doubling instruments up space could be saved in the Doctors bag. The spade shaped gum lancet was used to cut into abscesses and such like, and the tenaculum was used to hook out veins and arteries for tying off. Some repairs to the tortoishell sides as seen. 7cm long when closed. £140 ($280)
