Genuine Doctors reflecting head mirror with original strap and cover. All-original condition even retaining the bluey/grey strap with 3-prong buckle. The mirror is mounted on a ball joint allowing movement in just about any direction! Mirror is intact and in good condition with no foxing and retains the original aluminium cover and black japanned back. This piece dates between 1922-1948. Mirror diameter 9cm. £55 ($110)

Opticians Skiascope by Luer c.1920. All original lenses with variances from +/- 0.5 to 10. This was how Opticians tested the eyes of those of a 'fidgety' nature such as children! If you used the usual spectacle frames and kept interchanging the lenses the chances are when you took a lens out and put it down the child would follow your action and risk either other lenses or the whole frames falling off. With this device you can hold the instrument at an angle and move the full range of lenses through the patients field of view in one easy action.  Total length; 41.5cm. £SOLD

Babinski pattern by 'Bell & Croydon' c.1920. White metal head with outer rubber ring on early phenolatropic shaft with tapered end to test sensitivity in foot arches etc. 23cm long. £75 ($150)

*RARE* Silver thermometer by Soloman Maw of London c.1881. Silver cased Immisch's Avitreous surface thermometer for mouth or axilla c.1881 in fine working order. Mint hand painted signed silvered dial. Size: 27mm diameter x 10mm. £795 ($1272)

Surgical Instrument Maker and Medical Glassware Supplier. Worked 1839-60 11 Aldersgate St, London. Member of the Guild of Spectaclemakers from 1843.He was succeeded by ‘Maw & Son S’  working from 7-12 Aldersgate, London.


Late Victorian cased Otoscope by Arnold & Sons of London. Leather covered box with fitted interior and company logo embossed in lid. Silver plated throughout and in superb condition. Box size; 10cm x 9.5cm x 7cm. £SOLD

Late Victorian travelling pH testing set by 'Down Bros' of London. Curious little compendium in a leather covered card case containing: 2 test tubes, spirit burner and reams of litmus paper! Case size: 100mm x 90mm x 30mm. £75 ($120)


Mint and Complete 'Carwardine's (urine) Saccharometer' c.1900-20.  Used to test for the sugar content in urine for diagnosis purposes. Never used, and in as near to 'new' condition as you get. Size of case: 340mm x 80mm x 30mm. £65 ($104)
